Updates on the EIE Women's Summit and Rest House Black Fundraiser Gala🤩

Happy Winsday ,

I hope you're doing well.

What time is it?👂🏽GOOD NEWS TIME!!!

I just wanted to share a quick update on some recent events that I had the opportunity to be a part of—well, almost!

First, I was blessed to participate in the EIE Women's Summit hosted by India MacCleod. It was a beautiful event filled with phenomenal speakers, inspiring vendors, and incredible attendees. I had a blast sharing some engaging gems on stage, and even supported a vendor by buying some stylish glasses to help camouflage my little "imperfection."

You see, the night before, I had an allergic reaction to an eyebrow waxing that left my face in rough shape 😩. But knowing how intense it is to organize an event and how a last-minute speaker cancellation can be a major challenge for an event host, I pressed on and made it to the summit by the grace of God.

After I crushed the stage and did my thing, one of the vendors, a longtime friend from a previous business, insisted I leave to get checked out, as my condition seemed to be worsening.

I submitted to her wisdom and headed to urgent care, which then led me to the emergency room. Thank God, some Benadryl and prednisone did the trick, with strict instructions to steer clear of those chemicals going forward.

All in all, I’m grateful I could fulfill the assignment and come out victorious 🙌🏽. This experience reminded me of a few important lessons:

  • Selfless service

  • The power of pushing through when possible

  • Listening to wisdom

  • Practicing self-care

  • And always remaining grateful

I also wanted to give a quick update on the Rest House Black Fundraiser Gala on October 5th, powered by Gifted Girls. Although I couldn’t attend due to my unexpected trip to urgent care 😳, I heard it was an absolutely amazing night!

There were powerful keynote addresses, empowering testimonials from foster care system survivors, live jazz, a DJ, and some seriously delicious food and drinks. I truly wish I could have been there for all of it!

Events like these remind us how crucial it is to connect, learn about important causes, and support one another. I’m honored to be a part of this network and hope I can attend next time. If you’d like a glimpse of the gala, check out the pictures below and don’t forget to follow Gifted Girls on Instagram to stay updated on their incredible work. We have entered into the season of giving, if you are looking for a great organization to support, pls consider this one!
