2025 Q1 Market Recap: A Strong Start, Then Growing Challenges

After a record-breaking 2024, markets surged into early 2025 with optimism around the new administration’s policies.

However, volatility hit mid-quarter as tariff uncertainties, inflation concerns, and economic slowdown fears took hold.

By the end of March, the S&P 500 fell 4.59%, the NASDAQ dropped 10.42%, and the Dow declined 1.73%.

The economy shows signs of strain with slowing GDP growth, rising unemployment, and cautious consumer spending. While potential Fed rate cuts offer hope, inflation remains a hurdle.
